Kynynmont Eclipse is a big, bubbly personality in a petite, flashy, golden wrapped package! Standing at 13.1h, this 2017 purebred Connemara mare is by Kynynmont Aidan McVai and out of Kynynymont Cameo of Ledgewood, by *Gunsmoke.

*Gunsmoke is a powerful and athletic stallion, magnificent jumper, and has produced outstanding dressage prospects, including Kynynmont Gunsmoke’s Gideon who was highly successful at International Grand Prix Dressage with trainer J.J. Tate, and Kynynmont Cooper O’Grady, our ACPS Premium Stallion who has shown through Intermediare I and is schooling the Grand Prix. Eclipse’s full brother, Kynynmont Aidan O’Sullivan, has proven with his amateur owner that this pedigree offers the recipe for success in the show arena!

It's hard to find a pony as flashy as Eclipse! Her dramatic dark stockings, mane and tail and striking golden body, accented perfectly with a round star and one hind sock, highlight her beautiful gaits.

Eclipse’s promising performance career was sadly cut short with the discovery of her exercise induced pharyngeal collapse which cannot be treated surgically. However, Eclipse’s wonderful pedigree and lovely personality make her an exceptional broodmare candidate, which was confirmed with a broodmare PPE in April 2024. Eclipse would also make a great light riding pony (walk and a bit of trot) so long as she is not asked to do hill work or canter.

Despite her diagnosis, at no point in time did this pony say “no.” She’s got a wonderful disposition, a workman like attitude, and offers tremendous value to a breeding program.

Eclipse is very simple to care for – she will live in, live out, be turned out alone, turned out with others, with geldings or mares. Barefoot and an easy keeper. Eclipse HWSD: pending.
