Low Level Schoolmaster

Kynynmont Kai

Kynynmont Kai is a 2015 Halfbred Connemara by Premium Connemara Stallion Kynynmont Cooper O’Grady and out of Kynynmont Tara (by Greystone McErrill).

Kai’s brother on his dam’s side is a little bit famous (Kynynmont Gunsmoke’s Gideon!). Kai is 15.2 and is a gorgeous “chocolate buckskin” color. He’s got a big walk, swinging trot, and a very comfortable canter. Kai did one show at Training Level in 2019, and one at First Level in 2020, scoring 70.83 (First 3) and 69.28 (First 2). In 2024 our working student rode Kai down centerline at a schooling show and was High Score of a show that ran from 8-5pm! He really knows his stuff and is a beautiful type. 

While Kai’s training progressed far past First Level, it was clear that due to physical limitations he should stick with rocking First Level movements (we will disclose medical records). Kai has been a fantastic lower level schoolmaster for multiple working students, but it’s time he find someone else to teach and be loved on by.

Kai is a schoolmaster in that he knows a lot, is responsive to the aids, and can teach a rider a ton! He can sometimes be a little bit of a scallywag but it's nothing extreme and recently he was excellent in a lesson with a beginner rider. He tends to be the type that the more the rider knows, the more Kai will push boundaries, so he needs a rider who is not easily impressed by his occasional shenanigans (and they truly are occasional and are nothing extreme - no rear, no bolt, no bronc). Kai has uveitis (has had zero flare ups for years) and needs to wear a UV fly mask for turnout (but he doesn’t wear his sunglasses at night!). Shoes all around. (Kai HWSD: N/N)
