Kynynmont Kavan O’Grady is a 2015 Purebred Connemara Gelding by the Premium Stallion *Smaragaid Cliff and out of our beloved ACPS Premium Mare Kynynmont Moira (Ballywhim Sterling Moss).

Standing just over 14.2, Kavan has a full barrel and sturdy build and can easily accommodate an adult rider (rider in video is 5’5”).

Kavan is schooling all of second level including walk-canter and counter canter. He also has a baby green half pass and is very easy to move laterally. While the focus has been dressage, Kavan would likely excel in any discipline. He is very easy in the bridle and truly comes over his back.

Kavan is a barn favorite. He is cute as a button, is perfect on crossties, and clips without a cocktail! However, he has not always been perfect under saddle. He used to carry a lot of anxiety when being ridden that would come out in bucks, spooks and general antics (no rear). The decision was made to give him an extended breather (approx. 1.5 years) where he lived out and chilled out. Kavan has been back in a work program since the Fall and is doing splendid. However, given his prior history of shenanigans, Kavan would only be appropriate for a rider with a good seat and solid sense of humor.

Kavan is barefoot, an easy keeper, and has no health issues. He can live in, or out, or anywhere in between. He is social and seems happier with a turnout buddy but is totally behaved when turned out alone.

Kavan has not been off property since at least 2020 and will start going on adventures in April.
