RWS Legendary Gal, affectionately known as “Lizzie,” is a 2014 Registered AQHA mare by Legendary Cutter out of a Solito Badger mare. Lizzie has her permanent Dressage Pony Card with USEF and measures 139 cm / 13.2H. To see Lizzie's video please click here.

Lizzie is a pleasure to work with both in the barn and under saddle. She loves hacking out—normally on her own, although she certainly wouldn’t mind having friends along!—and is a little worker bee in the sandbox. And she’s absolutely adorable. If you walk by her stall, it’s like looking into the box at your favorite Breyer pony from childhood!

Lizzie’s owner is regretfully selling her as she is getting out of horses to spend more time with her grandchildren, who live out of state. Lizzie has received exceptional care throughout her life, and we are looking for the perfect new home where she can continue to be a much-loved partner.

Lizzie is exceptionally polite and safe to handle on the ground, including around little horsemen. She has not had extensive experience carrying very young riders yet, but her kind and tolerant nature makes her a lovely candidate for that type of partnership with the right education.

She travels well and is generally a straightforward, pleasant mare to have around. At competitions, she can become a bit nervous when larger horses crowd her in the warm-up. If she will continue to be a competition horse, more exposure with a kind and calm rider in the tack would benefit her a lot. Under saddle, she is tolerant and forgiving and would be a nice match for a rider who is continuing to develop their balance and feel. She prefers a soft, sympathetic connection but is very understanding of a rider who is still learning to develop an elastic contact.

Lizzie has successfully competed at Recognized Competitions through Training and First Level with her Amateur owner, earning scores up to 69%. She knows leg yield and has begun learning the canter-walk-canter transition. She has plenty of room to continue developing, but her greatest strength may be as a wonderful partner for someone who enjoys the process of training and riding rather than needing to make a push toward the upper levels.

Lizzie also loves getting out of the arena and spending time on the trails. She would be an excellent choice for someone looking for a safe, kind, uncomplicated mare to enjoy both dressage and hacking with.

Her owner has been exceptionally conscientious about Lizzie’s veterinary care and management, and she comes with a well-established routine that has kept her happy and healthy. Lizzie is managed carefully for her weight and metabolic needs, including a grazing muzzle and controlled access to grass/sugar. She is seasonally maintained for allergies and weight management and is currently on Prascend. She is currently in four shoes and, depending on her workload, benefits from routine maintenance. Her management is straightforward for an owner who is comfortable staying on top of an established program.

Lizzie is looking for a loving, knowledgeable home where her excellent care will continue. She would be particularly well suited to someone who wants to enjoy the foundations of dressage, trail riding, and a wonderful relationship with their horse, rather than needing to campaign toward the upper levels.
